See plots USFS.1,3. Transect bearing 36 degrees. Transect starts out on a steep slope with an aspect of 160 degrees. The lower slope has several small limestone cliff bands. The community is a Quercus rubra - Acer saccharrum -Tilia americana / Impatiens pallida - Laportea canadensis forest. The mid slope is only moderately steep with large sandstone boulders. The forest becomes a slightly less diverse Quercus rubra - Acer sacchrum forest. Several old logging roads criss cross the hillside.;Sugar maple-Red oak; Windthrow aspect 216 degrees. Very steep slope. Plot was above an old logging road. Plot had a mixture of Liriodendron tulipifera, Quercus rubra, Prunus serotina, and Quercus prinus. This plot had rich forb cover.
